an excellent day trip possibility
a cool hill station set amidst the cool mountain air
and a majestic 100 million year old rainforest
dubbed as city of entertainment
it offers indoor and outdoor theme park, hotels, casino, and 18 hole golf course park
as we knew that it was quite impossible for us to finish all in one day
we only bought the outdoor ticket

part 4 of day 1 in cherating and the second day(the last day)

After the turtle dug a big hole.
It started to lay egg,the guide put a torch next to it so that we can look at the process of egg laying clearer.
After that, the turtle started to use its front flipper to cover it back.
The whole laying process took around 3 hours and it included the time it slowly made its way back to the sea.
Then, one person took a basket of turtle which already hatched in hatchery centre and ready to be released back to the sea
.Each of us took one and release from 1 few kilometres from the sea.We were not allowed to release it straight into the sea as the turtle might have difficulty to find its way back when it want to lay egg.The turtle i had in my hand was too weak.
When we put it on the floor, the turtle s were supposed to climb to the sea but it refused to move at all.
So i put it nearer and nearer.According to the guide, between thousands of eggs ,only one turtle will survive till the end
.Albeit they successfully prevent the eggs from stealing but still once they released it, they were still exposed to predators
.And we can do nothing about it.Well, after everything, we slowly made our way back to the parking lots for the van.Still, i felt sad and sorry for the turtles.

we just took a walk along the beach then
early in the morning

part 3 of day 2 in cherating

 After the fireflies watching ended, we received a call from Hafiz and told us that tonight the turtles were going to land on the coastal  to lay egg.

Wow,I was exhilarating because I never thought I will have a chance to watch that.

So, we immediately rushed to the cottage once we reached the bank.

Well, as we all known,There was no turtle in Kelantan,

but since we were at the northest of  Kelanatan,there was only a few miles to Terengganu, so we actually hired a van to bring us there

.It took us around 15 minutes there,the place is known as Teluk Mat Nik.Each of us paid50$  but my brother was FOC.

In the van, the driver, who is also the daughter of the boss of this activity gave us a briefing

.i should rather said we kept on asking question. 

We get to know that the best season for turtle watching is from March to September.However the peak month for turtle to lay egg is from May to July

.The temperature can differentiate sex of the baby turtles. 

If they buried it under higher temperatue(above 40"c)the baby turtles will be a female turtle.However if the temperature is between 30 to 39'c,the baby turtle will be a male.

The special thing about the turtle is taht it will only lay eggs in the place where it  borns

.There are 4 main types of turtles,the belimbing turtle ,or aptly named after leatherback turtles can only be founded in Rantau Abang.

It is the largest turtle in Malaysia,Turtle agar, or aptly named after green turtle is the turtle in Teluuk Mt Hik,where i got the chance to look at.

They are smaller compare to leatherback turtle and they feed on agar(seaweed),penyu karah,they have beaks that look like eagle one,and turtle lipas ,the smallest tutle in Malaysiaor aptly named after olive  ridley turtle.

 Once we reached there, we walked along the coastal and climbed over the rock before we reached the destination.Then, we saw that.A turtle made its way back trough the sea.

She had finished laying the egg.

It was too dark for us to see so we switch on the torch but the guide ask us to switch off as it might afraid the turtle and we did.But still able to got a glimpse on it.

Then, we were asked to follow the guide to another side where the turtle started to lay egg.

It slowly moved its way under a tree and used its front flippers to make a big hole.

we waited foe quite a long time and it started to lay egg.

The guide put a torch behing the  turtle so that we can have a clear look at it.It laid abot 80-100 of eggs.Then, it started to cry~

They don't. Their eyes are usually being washed by seawater so when they are ashore to lay eggs, their eyes secrete water from the tear ducts to keep them moist.
 They are not crying emotionally as we do but protecting their eyes from drying out.~according to the guide

Then, we rushed back to the hotel and the van brought us to the Haziq cottage.
Well, we realised that the price for each person is suppose to be 15$but the hotel charged us extra 10$for service.
Albeit we knew that erlier  but my dad never intended to cancel the booking and came here directly to save 50$in total.
 I always don;t know why but he said we  should never break the promise,it is a deal
So,what can i say?

When we arrived the Hafiz cottage, only we realized that we need tickets to enter but the hotel forgot to give us .
So, we waited there and waited for the driver to take it.
Before we entered, we were given talk about the fireflies.
The travel guide for this activity was Hafiz.
According to him,2 and 3 years ago, when he started this business, he never thought of giving talk about the fireflies.
Normally, he just started the journey and brought them around and when the tourist request to take a pictures of the fireflies.
He would said yes or no depend on his mood.

However, a few years ago, he met a professor in fireflies and got to know more about the characteristic of fireflies and started to have more interest to indulge himself more in this aspect.
Now, when people asked him whether he can take photos or not.
He can answer,exactly not  because even you take a photo,you will not see the fireflies in the picture and even worst, you kill it as the fireflies communicate using the light and when you press the shoot button,the flash of the camera will eventually affect the natural ability of the fireflies and they will fail to communicate anymore,then they died.Besides, the longer lifespan of the butterflies is 4 weeks.
According to Hafiz, it takes 2 week to hatch from the egg and become larvae,2 months to turn into pupae and 2 week to turn into adults.
At around 8.00,all the fireflies come out and mate.Once they mate, the male died on spot whereas the female died after it laid its eggs(around 100++once). Well, the only type of fireflies exist is pteroptys beari.They give out the light nether body nor tail but through the bulb at the end of their bodies.
The light they give out have no heat at all.99 percent pure light.
Thus, they call it as gold light.
They live in the mangrove cruise with lots of berenwang trees at river edges.
That were roughly about the talk and we embarked the journey on the boat provided.
They have their very special way to attract the fireflies by imimtating their light.
When the fireflies see the light, they flied towards us as they thought their friends are calling them.
The way they give out the light is one long flash and one short flash. Evertime they breath in , the light ignite.
These was the only special way that made it more outstanding than the fireflies watching in Selangor as the fireflies there never fly to us but remain on the trees so we only got a chance to watch.
