porto

On the way to Porto by flight, we talked about our preference on the way of traveling. The trip took about an hour. There ia no time zome difference  between Dublin and Porto.

We checked in to hostel porto aka yes hotel. The people here is very nice and friendly.
We tried the bifanasaka bread with spicy pork( taste a bit wine though).
After we settled down,we headed to catedral Porto.
The Porto Cathedral located in the historical centre of the city of Porto, Portugal, is one of the city's oldest monuments and one of the most important Romanesque monuments in Portugal
We saw lot of bird look like seafull bird in portugal.

Then, we headed to Luis 1 Bridge
The Luís I Bridge is a metal arch bridge that spans the Douro River between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. At the time of construction its span of 172 m was the longest of its type in the world
The arch measures 172 m in length and 44.6 m in height Originally built to take road traffic on both decks, at various times it saw trams on the upper and trolleybuses on the lower. The top deck is now occupied by Line D of the Metro do Porto and a pedestrian walkway.

On the bridge, we saw a ferry pass by. We went to abother town known as parques gaia.
Lunch or dinner on the moving ferry is another enjoyment over here.( quote frm Gabby)
The view from Gaia overlook at Porto.
The view of the bridge remimd me of the MV by YALUN.
After that, we went to port wine cellar. It is famous for the Taylor aport. Once we reached there, we tried the white wine

With the entrance fee of 5 euro, they intoduced us the port which classified into 4 types, which is one type of white wine and 3 types of red wine. The red wine are catogoried as 3 types as well which is premium, turnic and the venture.
All the wine here are kept for aging and stirage.
According to the tour guide, the longer the wine is stored, the smoother the texture.
We get the opprortunity to taste 3 different types of wine.
The funniest thing is that people get red when they drank even though they are not drunk.
Then, we headed towards the Riberia square.

The Ribeira Square is a historical square in Porto, Portugal. It is included in the historical centre of the city, designated World Heritage by UNESCO.

The square is located in the historical district of Ribeira (riverside in Portuguese), part of the São Nicolau parish. The Ribeira district spreads alongside the Douro river and used to be a centre of intense commercial and manufacturing activity since the Middle Ages. Also since that time the Ribeira Square was the site of many shops that sold fish, bread, meat and other goods. In 1491 the buildings around the square were destroyed in a fire, and the houses were rebuilt with arcades in their groundfloors. During this rebuilding campaign the square also gained a pavement made of stone slabs.

After that, we went to the well-known restaurant for codfish. The restaurant is known as Bacalhero

Then, we walked along the Duona River for the night view.
